Fairy Baby

I went to the Renaissance Festival on Sunday.  It wasn't my first time, but it was my first time actually having both a costume and money to spend.  It's always one or the other for me, but because my boyfriend works, I was able to borrow a bit of money from him as we went the day before I got my money.  I did have some though as I had sold a bunch of ruffle scarves at my boyfriend's mother's garage sale.  She is going to craft sales in a few weeks, so I have to work on some more.  Ah, so many projects, so little time.

Anyway, you're probably wondering how any of this has anything to do with crafts.  It does, trust me.  While I was at the Renaissance Festival, I came across a shop that sold fantasy pieces for little kids.  Most of the stuff was princess related, but they also had some adorable fairy wings.  They were posed to stick out rather than the really cheap ones that lay flat across the back.  I just simply had to buy some, not for myself cause they were baby sized wings, but for my 1-year-old niece.  They were even more irresistible considering that they were only $8.

The thing is, the wings don't go with just anything.  So that gave me an idea, to make a tutu to go with the wings.  I went to Wal-Mart and found some great purple tulle that matches the veins on the wings.  The best was that it was on sale due to Halloween coming up, so I bought 3 of them.  The ribbon that I got was a bit more expensive as it was over in the ribbon area rather than the Halloween section as they didn't have the width that I wanted.  Anyway, the supplies for the project only cost me about $5.  I'll post the results and how I made the tutu when I get it done as I am kind of just making it up as I go along.  It shouldn't be too hard, especially consider that is how I do many of my projects.  See ya later with more ideas and finished projects.  n.n
